MOSCOW, ID -- Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) has begun site preparation for a new electronic device manufacturing facility in Moscow, Idaho, representing a $50 million investment that will expand the company's manufacturing capacity.

The new facility will be built south of SEL's printed circuit board factory on the company's Schwartz Campus. Hiring will begin in phases as production lines come online starting in summer 2027, with the completed facility expected to employ approximately 1,000 workers.

Local contractor Motley-Motley is handling early site preparation, while Bernardo Wills Architects is designing the building. Construction is expected to begin later this summer, with completion anticipated in late 2027.

The expansion will increase SEL's electronic device manufacturing capacity to support growing global demand. The company currently operates manufacturing facilities in Pullman and Lewiston, Washington, as well as West Lafayette, Indiana, and Lake Zurich, Illinois.
