TAIPEI – Foxconn said it is talking to Wisconsin about building electric vehicles there, according to reports.

In May, Foxconn and electric car manufacturer Fisker said they finalized a vehicle assembly deal, saying Wisconsin was one of four possible location options. Fisker said an electric car startup plant would be operational by 2023.

"Foxconn has engaged the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation to discuss the company's plans for electric vehicle manufacturing,” Foxconn said in a statement. “Foxconn is optimistic about our partnership with WEDC and looks forward to ongoing discussions.”

Foxconn said it aims to provide components or services to 10% of the globe’s electric vehicles by 2025 to 2027.
