GREEN BAY, WI – Foxconn says it is moving forward with its planned innovation center here that would employ between 100 and 200 people.

The company could get up to $4.5 billion in state and local tax incentives to build a factory in southeastern Wisconsin, according to reports, with another R&D center planned for Eau Claire and a headquarters in Milwaukee.

The full incentives package is contingent on Foxconn creating 13,000 jobs and investing $10 billion. The tax credits have been a source of controversy in the state, with longtime employers and residents protesting the largesse of the package. To date, the company has hired fewer than 200 workers in the state and has discussed revamping its factory plans.
