MIRABEL, CANADA – EMS firm Varitron has acquired all assets of Xcelsia Technologies for an undisclosed sum.

Under the terms of the transaction, all 15 Xcelsia locations, as well as its facility in Mirabel, will be maintained.

Varitron plans to invest in capacity at its fourth site in 2019.

“This new site will be dedicated to prototyping and small-batch production, to better serve our customer base,” said Michel Farley, president and CEO, Varitron Group. “With this addition, we will enhance our overall capacity. And with this strategic positioning in Montréal’s Northern Crown, we will be able to better serve the Greater Ottawa Region and access a broader pool of talent, which is a significant advantage in these times of global labor shortage.”

The acquisition will be integrated into company operations immediately. The resulting enhanced prototyping capacity will enable Varitron’s customers to ramp up their projects and bring new products to market.
