FREMONT, CA -- Synnex has signed a definitive sale agreement to sell inventory and customers related to its contract assembly business to MiTAC International.

Synnex, which for years has had a joint electronics design and assembly relationship MiTAC, will focus on its data center and distribution value-add assembly operations. The transaction is expected to close at the end of July and will have a $20 to $30 million impact to the company's 2010 fiscal third quarter revenue.

The company does not expect to record a material gain or loss related to the transaction, although it may incur minor restructuring charges over the next two quarters. Synnex pegged the total revenue related to the customers at less than $375 million in the 12 months ended May 31.
