ESPOO, FINLAND – Finnish EMS giant Elcoteq plans to open a new facility in Tallinn, Estonia, say published reports.

The firm is said to have received a significant order from a new customer, which was not disclosed for confidentiality reasons.

The new space will be used for production of high-tech and complex products and will require an increase in staff. Sources say the growth will take place steadily beginning in the second quarter 2010.

Elcoteq sold most of its Tallinn equipment and materials to Ericsson at the end of July. The current Tallinn plant employs more than 150.
