BEAVERTON, OR – Benchmark Electronics announced that it will close its plant here at the end of the year, affecting all 183 employees.

The company gave no reason for its decision. However, according to published reports, second-quarter sales were down 29% at the plant.

The 80,000 sq. ft. facility built for the medical, telecommunications, industrial and computer markets. 

The company said some workers might be offered jobs at its other facilities or held over to assist with inventory liquidation.
