DAYTON, OH ― July 2025 ― Libra Industries, a leading provider of systems integration, precision machining, metal fabrication and electronics manufacturing services (EMS), is proud to announce the upcoming installation of a high-performance Amada fiber-laser system, set to begin operation at its Guaymas, Sonora facility in early September.
As part of Libra’s continued commitment to excellence, highlighted by recent expansions in precision machining, sheet metal, and powder coating in Guaymas this new laser system represents a significant step forward in automated fabrication and finishing capabilities.
Key Upgrades & Benefits:
• High-Speed, High-Precision Laser Cutting: The Amada fiber laser delivers rapid, automated cutting of complex metal geometries including stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, and copper while maintaining tight tolerances (±0.005″) and clean-cut edges, reducing secondary deburring.
• Automation-Ready for High-Mix/Low-Volume: Configured for modern manufacturing, the system integrates seamlessly with automated loaders and part-sorting hardware, enhancing throughput and efficiency on diverse job runs.
• Optimized Materials Handling: Designed to accommodate coils, sheets, and tubes, the laser meets growing demand in aerospace, medical, and industrial markets, areas well served by the Guaymas plant’s 75,000 ft² capacity.
• Lean & Sustainable Production: The closed-loop fiber laser architecture minimizes energy usage and waste, aligning with Libra’s commitment to sustainability and quality management across all manufacturing processes.
Primary customer benefits include faster turnaround times enabled by automated nesting and high-output laser cycles, as well as enhanced precision to support complex aerospace frame builds, enclosures, and sheet-metal components. The addition of full-service metal fabrication within the Guaymas facility simplifies the supply chain by integrating cutting, machining, coating, and assembly under one roof. Finally, Libra’s U.S.-owned operation in Mexico offers a nearshore advantage—delivering cost efficiency without sacrificing responsiveness or proximity for North American customers.
“This new Amada laser greatly expands our metal fabrication capacity, bringing together cutting, forming, finishing, and assembly under one roof,” said Andrew Williams, CEO of Libra Industries. “Our customers benefit from single-source convenience, faster quotes, faster delivery, and world-class quality — all from our Guaymas location.”
This new system complements the advanced equipment already in operation at the Guaymas facility, including the FLC3015AJ Amada Fiber Laser and the EML2515AJ Amada Combination Laser/Punch Machine. Together, these assets form a robust fabrication platform capable of handling a wide range of metal forming and cutting applications with speed, accuracy, and flexibility.
