With the virtual format, the 2020 Symposia registration fees have been reduced to $300 ($150 for students), making the conference program accessible to a wider audience than ever before.
PISCATAWAY, NJ (JUNE 5, 2020) – For the first time in its 40-year history, the 2020 Symposia on VLSI Technology & Circuits, the microelectronics industry’s premiere international conference integrating technology, circuits, and systems, will feature 25 live, interactive “Executive Sessions.” These highly-interactive events will enable participants to discuss current technologies, ask questions of experts, and contribute their insights. These 50-minute sessions will include discussions with authors and session chairs on key challenges and opportunities for the industry. Online polls will allow the opportunity for participants to interact with the presenters.
The now-virtual Symposia program, organized around the theme of “The Next 40 Years of VLSI for Ubiquitous Intelligence,” will be held from June 15 – 19, 2020, with more than 40 live interactive sessions, workshops, panel sessions, and plenary talks, presented in a range of time slots to be convenient for the global VLSI community.
In addition to the live events, the Symposia will feature more than 200 technical papers, three Short Courses, a joint Technology/Circuits panel discussion, a luncheon presentation, and the “Friday Forum,” presented in an on-demand format. The Symposia’s virtual program promises to deliver a unique perspective on the integration of advanced technology developments, innovative circuit design, and the applications they enable – such as machine learning, IoT, artificial intelligence, wearable/implantable biomedical applications, big data, cloud / edge computing, virtual reality (VR) / augmented reality (AR), robotics, and autonomous vehicles – the emerging technology ecosystem needed to realize the conference theme “The Next 40 Years of VLSI for Ubiquitous Intelligence.”

The 2020 Symposium on VLSI Technology & Circuits will be held online from June 15-19, 2020, including three Short Courses and three Workshop panel sessions. The two Symposia have been held together since 1987, providing an opportunity for the world’s top device technologists, circuit and system designers to exchange leading edge research on microelectronics technology, with alternating venues between Hawaii and Japan. A single registration enables participants to participate in both Symposia.
