Hudson NH, May 31, 2018 – Continuing its tradition of providing its customers with superior service and support, Varitron announces that it recently earned International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 13485:2016 certification. This internationally-accepted certification clearly demonstrates Varitron’s commitment to excellence for its customers, including those in the medical device industry.

ISO 13485:2016 is the latest update to the ISO criteria for medical devices. This newest revision expands risk management, adds new safeguards, and outlines new policies for quality control in supply-chain management.

“The addition of the ISO 13485 certification is a significant achievement and is consistent with our culture of continuous improvement,” said Michel Farley, President and CEO of Varitron. “The market demands superior service and support, with world-class quality management systems. This certification confirms our commitment to such a level of service on behalf of our medical customers, as well as those in other industries.”

Varitron serves customers in the renewable energy, lighting, defence and aerospace, industrial, and medical sectors, among others. The move to certification allows some of Varitron’s existing medical customers to grow and expand the level of service Varitron provides to them, thus alleviating some of the burden of next-level manufacturing and support.

To achieve this certification, Varitron spent six months undergoing independent review of the company's processes, documentation, and risk-assessment practices. An existing general culture of quality provided a seamless transition that aligned with the ISO 13485 guidelines.

“ISO 13485:2016 certification affirms to Varitron's customers and future partners that the company is providing the best quality management systems and regulatory compliance, and will continue to increase our capabilities, technology, and offerings,” Mr. Farley added.
