MONTREAL -- Triton Electronik is the first contract manufacturer in Canada to achieve certification to IECQ QC 080000, the new International Specification for RoHS compliance.

Triton is a turnkey PCBA, cable harness, box build and systems CM with additional plants in Saint-Eustache, Quebec, and Kitchener, Ontario. The other facilities will complete QC 080000 Certification within the next few months. NSAI will perform all three certification audits.

Contact Manufacturing Services, located in Mt. Laurel, NJ, helped to implement the certification.

"QC 080000 Certification provides our customers the assurance they need that all Triton Electronik divisions are capable of manufacturing fully RoHS compliant products - not just Pb-free,” said Ben Frank, VP of sales and marketing. "CMS provided us with the experience and support that we needed to achieve certification quickly and cost effectively at all three facilities".

Demonstration of RoHS compliance has become important since the EU published its RoHS Enforcement Guidance Document in May.  To meet these guidelines, a company is expected to have a process-based Compliance Assurance System in place. QC 080000 certification demonstrates that a company has a CAS.
