The MFR (Multi Function Rework) system has a compact power unit that offers two ports to which any of the MFR series tools can be attached for rework applications, SMT tasks and through-hole soldering and desoldering. For heavier or more varied workloads, multiple units can be interlocked to power as many tools as necessary.
Offers a choice of heater tips or tip cartridges. Heater tips are designed to meet the demands of point to point production soldering; tip cartridges are suitable for high performance soldering and rework applications.
The tools, interchangeable heater tips and tip cartridges are easy to assemble and use, ideal for demanding lead-free materials. Metcal SmartHeat technology senses the amount of heat energy needed at the pad and provides it accurately and instantaneously.
Sensitive components are further protected from damage by ESD-safe materials and built-in ground continuity-sensing technology.

The module was created to find hidden electrical problems in the schematic design held within CR-5000 System Designer using predefined electrical rules set by the library administrator. A task that would ordinarily involve considerable analysis time using SPICE-based simulators can now be performed using simple automatic rule checks.
Is an add-on solution fully integrated with the CR-5000 enterprise wide design environment. By implementing combined technologies that use a singular database throughout the portfolio, designers can benefit from unified design information.

Is comprised of similar raw materials, activators and other components as used in next generation Pb-free solders. Offers wider reflow capabilities to overcome wetting issues caused by the combination of SnPb solder and Pb-free device finishes.
Is designed to operate under elevated Pb-free temperatures (up to 260°C). Is said to have high humidity resistance. Anti-tombstoning formulation is designed to extend the liquidus time of solder during reflow, increasing the wetting window for each end of the component.
