China RoHS General Guidelines of Environment-friendly Use Period of Electronic Information Products, SJ/Z 11388-2009 is now available in English. Document was promulgated Nov. 17, 2009, and "implemented" Jan. 1, 2010. The purpose of the Environment-Friendly Use Period is for manufacturers to identify the time period they guarantee that the toxic or hazardous substances, as identified in the China RoHS regulation, will not "leak out or mutate." It can range from five to 50 years.
