MicroHAWK ID-30 and ID-40 barcode readers now include optional Diffuser and Polarizer optical filter accessories. Selected optical filter blocks unwanted light. Diffuser filter softens and flattens background light around the barcode and minimizes noise and reflections. Is useful when reader needs to be mounted perpendicular to the part. Polarizer filter is reportedly ideal for managing reflections from other highly-reflective, transparent or lucid materials such as cellophane or glass test tubes. Eliminates hot spots caused by reflections by allowing one linear light polarization to be used for outgoing scanning beam.
