GSI Group Acquires Aven Tools
MAHWAH, NJ – GSI Group Holdings has acquired Aven Tools, adding the precision tool and microscopy equipment provider to its portfolio of laboratory and industrial workflow brands.
Aven's product portfolio includes digital and stereo microscopes, LED illumination systems, cameras, tweezers, magnifiers and other precision hand tools used across industrial electronics, medical device and research applications. The company distributes its products through a dealer network serving OEMs and research institutions in North America and international markets.
“For over 45 years, our focus has been on delivering innovative, high-quality precision tools and microscopy solutions to customers,” said Mark Kanpurwala, co-owner of Aven Tools. “Partnering with GSI gives us the supply chain capabilities, global distribution footprint, and cross-sell platform to bring our products to a far broader set of customers worldwide.”
GSI said the acquisition expands its presence in industrial electronics and medical device workflows while adding Aven's established dealer network and customer base of more than 1,000 customers.
Aven joins GSI Group brands Globe Scientific, AmScope, Euromex and GenesisBPS. GSI said it plans to continue pursuing acquisitions of brands across North America and Europe.
