MORRISVILLE, NC – iNEMI will hold a call-for-participation webinar for their unified equipment interaction management project July 7 and 8.

iNEMI’s unified equipment interaction management project will be a collaboration between manufacturers and equipment suppliers to validate the feasibility and ease of implementation of the SEMI draft standard 6926, Specification for Equipment Operator Access Management and Monitoring. This standard is proposed by the SEMI North America Fab and Equipment Computer and Device Security Task Force.

The guidelines provided by the standard will enable the addition of centrally managed role-based access management of electronics manufacturing equipment that will allow traceability of user interaction through individualized credentials.

This capability will benefit integrated device manufacturers by reducing threat vectors and centralizing access management. OEMs will see improved feedback on software functionality and more robust security for equipment, and will have a foundation for other functions such as remote connectivity.

iNEMI’s project is being organized to validate implementation of the proposed standard and provide feedback to help ensure it meets the needs of, and can be implemented efficiently by, manufacturers.
