TAIPEI – Foxconn reported second quarter revenue was NT$1.35 trillion (US$48.6 billion), up 20% year-over-year. Profit was NT$29.8 billion, up 29.7%.

The company said it is unsure yet if its supply chain will be impacted by the worsening Covid-19 situation in Asia.

For the third quarter, the firm estimates a 3-15% rise in overall revenue, with more than 15% growth in consumer electronics.

“The epidemic situation appears to be worsening in Asia,” said chairman Liu Young-way. “Because Asia is the key global hub for ICT components, it needs to be closely watched whether the epidemic will have an impact on the overall supply chain.”

EV is expected to result in revenue of more than NT$10 billion in 2021, up 40% year-over-year, with higher growth expected next year.
