TURGI, SWITZERLAND – Enics Schweiz is in talks to transfer a majority of its production at its site here to other manufacturing locations, according to reports.

Up to 125 staff at the Turgi location could be laid off by the end of 2022. Employee consultations are ongoing through Apr. 19.

“The ongoing developments in the electronics manufacturing market are driving for consolidation and optimization of global footprint,” said Elke Eckstein, Enics CEO and president. “With the changes in industries and service business models, we need to act and adapt Enics operations to continuously serve our customers and partners in the best way.”

Enics plans to have a strong presence in Central Europe, with a business development center in Switzerland. The center will focus on engineering consulting, obsolescence management, product care, and business development services.

“Enics wants to serve our European customers, and in particular the German-speaking markets, with a Central European presence in the future.”
