BAWAL, HARYANA, INDIA -- Syrma Technology today announced the opening of an electronics manufacturing plant here, its fifth in India. The electronics manufacturing services provider is committing $10 million over the next three years toward the new plant, which will focus on the automotive, industrial, aerospace, defense and medical sectors.

Bawal is located between Delhi and Mumbai.

The 26,000 sq. ft. facility includes a Class 10,000 clean room and can be expanded to over 125,000 sq. ft. Syrma, India’s largest domestic-based EMS, said the plant could employ up to 1,000 workers once fully built out.

In a statement, Syrma CEO Sreeram Srinivasan said, “With the launch of our new facility, Syrma will be positioned to gain a stronger foothold among domestic electronics manufacturing in India, for India. As more and more domestic tech-savvy customers crave world-class and smart products, we’re excited about bringing our legacy of innovation and quality to more consumers in our home country.”
