MALMO, SWEDEN -- Enics ceased production at its EMS manufacturing site here on June 29, and the factory will be closed down by the end of the year.

Enics acquired the 59,000 sq. ft. factory from Flextronics in 2005, according to the CIRCUITS ASSEMBLY Directory of EMS Companies.

In an open letter, Hannu Keinänen, CEO and president, said "We are thanking warmly all our customers, employees and partners for the good co-operation over the years and wish the best of success for everyone in the future.

"We will continue our close cooperation and full commitment to our customers and partners from other Enics locations in Västerås, Sweden; Lohja and, Finland; Elva, Estonia; Turgi, Switzerland; Nova Dubnica, Slovakia; and Suzhou and Beijing, China."
