ZANDT, GERMANY -- Zollner has begun manufacture of medical devices and systems in its new 135,000 sq. ft. building here.

The new site took just 14 months from planning to completion and provides space for 220 production and office staff.

The plant was designed to meet Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations to guarantee product safety, Zollner said. It features most state-of-the-art production technologies and biometric access control systems, along with a cleanroom and controlled environment production. The site also features automated warehouse and logistic systems, energy-saving LED lighting, industrial panel heating, inductive-controlled forklifts and systems for early fire detection.
