SAN JOSE -- Sanmina-SCI reported third-quarter revenue of $2.71 billion, up 1.5% sequentially but down 4.2% from a year ago.

A special committee of the company's board and an independent outside legal counsel are reviewing stock option administration policies and practices dating to Jan. 1, 1997.  As such, the company did not provide detailed earnings financial information for the quarter.
Sanmina-SCI guided for fiscal fourth quarter revenue of $2.7 billion to $2.8 billion, below Wall Street's original estimate of $2.9  billion and revised estimate of $2.83 billion.

Sequentially, sales of communications infrastructure and IT hardware were up 2% and multimedia was up 3%, while PCs fell 1%. Industrial, defense and aerospace sales were up 10%. Medical sales fell 6%.

Inventory was up 8% sequentially and is now up 32% year-on-year.
