Lockheed to Buy Sikorsky for $9B

BETHESDA, MD — Lockheed Martin will buy Sikorsky Aircraft for $9 billion, the companies announced today.
Lockheed will pay for the unit through a combination of newly issued debt and cash on hand, and the deal is expected to close no later than the first quarter of 2016.
Sikorsky's owner, United Technologies, said last month that it would sell the Black Hawk helicopter maker.
