PARIS – AOI OEM Vi Technology will receive some €15 million in new funding from a trio of investment firms for use in product development and marketing.

Bpifrance and CM-CIC Capital Innovation are investing €7.5 million and €3 million, respectively, in the company, Vi said. Longtime investor Neptune Technologies is also contributing to the €15 million capital plan.

The transactions were first announced in September.

Vi Technology designs, produces and markets automated optical inspection systems for printed circuit board assemblies. The AOI firm employs 120 people, more than 80 in France, primarily in R&D.

The new funds will be used to accelerate worldwide marketing of its new system for solder paste inspection, and to develop 3D AOI equipment.
