SUZHOUUPG International will open a fourth plant here next month to accommodate electronics assembly for its medical segment.

The 40,000 sq. ft. facility will open space for the firm to create an 8,000 sq. ft. Class 100,000 clean room in a local existing plant, according to published reports.

This is the third medical clean room UPG will have built in China in fewer than five years. Medical reportedly now accounts for 35% to 45% of the firm’s total sales.

The company now has 11 plants in four countries, with four in the US and two in Mexico. The company has more than 300 molding machines.

UPG’s 2010 revenue returned to pre-recession levels, and the firm is optimistic about its future, especially in medical.
