MALMÖ, SWEDEN -- Swedish EMS firm PartnerTech will consolidate its UK operations to its Cambridge facility and take a restructuring charges of up to SEK 10 million ($1.54 million).

“I see this as a necessary and strategic step in the UK to reach sustainable profitability and growth also in this key market. By doing this and using PartnerTech’s total sales and production channels, there will be great potential,” said president and CEO Leif Thorwaldsson in a statement.

The contract electronics manufacturing services company will take the bulk of the charges in the current quarter.

The EMS firm acquired the plant to be closed from Hansatech EMS in 2006.
