Report: Jabil to Divest Italy Plant

ESSEX, MD -- A US-based investment group reportedly will acquire Jabil Circuit's subsidiary in Italy for an undisclosed sum.
Competence Inc., a subsidiary of Mercatech Inc. will reportedly purchase Jabil Circuit Italia, based in Bergamo, Italy. The deal is expected to close in July.
All Jabil employees will be retained, according to published reports.
The 76,000 sq. ft. Bergamo plant has two SMT lines, according to the 2010 CIRCUITS ASSEMBLY Directory of EMS Companies.
