GLENVIEW, IL -- Illinois Tool Works today reported May quarter operating revenue rose 21% year-over-year on increasing demand across a broad set of regional and end-markets.

Sales at ITW's Power Systems and Electronics business unit were up 24% from a year ago. The unit includes Kester Solder, Speedline Technologies, Vitronics-Soltec and other leading electronics manufacturing suppliers.

Overall, the company's base revenues contributed 15% to revenue growth, acquisitions 2% and currency translation 4%, respectively.

ITW guided for second-quarter revenue to grow 18 to 20%, and full-year revenue growth of 10 to 14%.
