HALFMOON, NYPrecision Valve & Automation Inc. issued a cease and desist letter to Specialty Coating Systems of Indianapolis, citing 33 potential infractions of PVA’s two patents.

In a press release, PVA asserts that under both patents it has exclusive rights to conformal coating application systems bearing multiple applicators, and also rotation of the end effector of PVA’s four-axis motion technology.

The cease and desist letter seeks immediate termination of all infringing acts, including the manufacture, sale, offer for sale, and use of all such spray and dispense systems, including the SCS Precisioncoat spray coating and dispense system.

In a press release, PVA said it intends to defend its patents and seek willful damages if further infringing acts continue.
