DUBLIN, IRELAND -- US electronics connector sales reached $4.2 billion in 2008, a new research report claims.

The figure includes sales of coaxial, cylindrical, rack and panel, pin and sleeve, printed circuit and fiber optic connectors, said Research and Markets, which released the report.

The estimated gross margin was 36.4%.

The total domestic demand for electronics connectors was $3.6 billion. Imports were valued at $3.5 billion and came from 95 countries. Exports were worth $4.1 billion and were sold into 184 countries.
