NEENAH, WI – EMS provider Plexus Corp. reported second-quarter revenue of $451 million, up 20% year-over-year.

The company reported net income of $22.1 million, up almost 54% compared to the same quarter last year.

"Revenue … was flat from the strong first quarter of fiscal 2008. Sequentially, strong performance in our wireline/networking and industrial/commercial sectors offset modest weakness in our medical sector, and a significant $29 million reduction in revenue from our large un-named defense program. Excluding this defense program, revenue grew approximately 5.5% sequentially," said Dean Foate, president and CEO of Plexus.

The company expects third-quarter revenue of $430 million to $450 million.

The company forecasts full year 2008 revenue growth in the range of 16% to 18%.
