LOUSIVILLE, KY – Foxconn confirmed plans to establish a major US production hub in Louisville, announcing a $170 million investment that will bring 180 new jobs to the region. The project follows earlier reports that Kentucky was under consideration and comes after the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority approved incentives for the company.
ATLANTA, GA – Electronic Component Trends and Sentiment report for November shows the industry’s outlook strengthening far ahead of expectations, with the overall sentiment index reaching 120.1 – well above the October forecast of 103.5. The figure represents the sixth straight month of improving sentiment across the electronic components supply chain, beginning in June.
KUALA LUMPUR – VS Industry Bhd returned to profitability in its fiscal first quarter ended Oct. 31, reporting about US$6.6 million in net profit, compared with a year-ago loss of roughly US$7.0 million, a swing of about 192% year over year. Operating profit rose 4% to about $11 million, up from roughly $10.6 million.
