BANNOCKBURN, IL — Total North American PCB 90-day moving average orders in September were up 38.7% year-over-year, says IPC. Year-to-date orders were up 19.2%.

Ninety-day moving average PCB shipments in September were up 4.8% compared to the same month in 2020. Year-to-date shipments were up 5.7%.

The book-to-bill ratio dropped to 1.25 compared to 1.31 in August. A ratio of more than one suggests current demand is ahead of supply, which is a positive indicator for sales growth over the next three to twelve months.

“The PCB sector saw strong shipment growth during September, a hopeful sign that production levels are improving after two months of lower-than-expected deliveries,” said Shawn DuBravac, IPC’s chief economist. “Order flow during the month suggests demand remains strong for electronics manufacturing capacity.”
