KALMAR, SWEDEN -- Hoping to expand its business in Europe, Ethertronics has acquired Flextronics' design center here for an undisclosed sum.

Under the terms of the agreement, Ethertronics acquired the facility's lab and design center and approximately 10 engineers.

In a statement, Ethertronics president and chief executive Jeffrey Crosby called the acquisition "a natural fit for our global expansion plans."

"In addition to being located near key customers and in burgeoning wireless markets, this acquisition gives us instant access to an experienced team and well-equipped facility. We look forward to immediately continuing work on existing projects at the Kalmar facility and to initiating new deals in the coming months."
