APT-1600FD flying probe tester for assembled PCBAs provides average head-speed increases of up to 50% with throughput improvements of 30 to 50% over existing models.

New 10-flying-Z-axis design, including four vertical flying probes, provide access to test points where conventional angled probes fail to contact. Incorporates six topside and four bottom-side probes. “Soft touch” controls are said virtually eliminate witness marks. New probe tips available, including dagger-head probes for through-holes and inverse-cone-head probes for connectors. Is equipped with laser measuring device to compensate for warpage of the board under test. High-precision measurement electronics embedded in flying heads permit improved measurement accuracy and increased functional capabilities. New measurement system includes multiple four-quadrant source and measurement units, plus an AC sine and square wave generator and frequency counter, providing the ability to perform dynamic characteristic tests of components and circuits. An Enhanced Function Scanner Board and communications software connects external instrumentation for additional functional-test capabilities.
