TAIWAN – Cellphone maker Foxconn International Holdings Ltd. plans to spend $1 billion by the end of 2008 to more than double its production capacity, according to published reports.
 
The company produced more than $10 billion worth of products last year, and expects to produce more than $20 billion from 2008 through 2009.

Motorola Inc. and Nokia Corp. accounted for more than 90% of the company's total sales in 2006, Foxconn said.
 
Sony Ericsson will account for at least 10% of Foxconn's sales this year, the company added. 
 
The company has production plants in Shenzhen, Tianjin and Beijing, as well as Brazil, Finland, Mexico and Hungary. It is building production plants in Langfang in China's Hebei province, in Taiyuan in northern China, and in India.
