BASINGSTOKE, UK -- EC Electronics has acquired Hunter Cable Assemblies, a subsidiary of Arcum Group, for an undisclosed sum.

In a statement, EC Electronics said the acquisition is part of its long-term growth strategy. "Adding HCAL to the group represents a major step forward with these plans. The synergies between the two businesses are strong and HCALs established foothold in the UK manufacturing market will compliment the EC structure."

HCAL is expected to open new markets to EC due to its box build capabilities.

“I believe that the EC group is a great home for HCAL," Phil Simmonds, Group Managing Director of EC Electronics said. "We are wholly dedicated to electronics manufacturing services and the addition of HCAL increases group revenue significantly.

"We believe there is excellent growth potential for mid-sized cable assembly and box build specialists in the UK and mainland Europe. HCAL will significantly strengthen the groups UK capabilities."

HCAL will continue operating as an independent business from the existing premises in Theale under the existing management team, EC said.
