TAIPEI, TAIWAN -- Inventec will expand production capacity in several regions outside China to meet growing demand for IT infrastructure and PC equipment, according to published reports.

The ODM, the world's 8th largest, will expand capacity in Mexico and the Czech Republic, where it builds cloud servers, and India, where it makes PCs and smart terminal devices.

The expansions are set for 2017.

Inventec is also considering a new factory in Indonesia, reported DigiTimes, citing company chairman Richard Lee, but will not expand its three factories in China as automation has lessened the need for more space there.

The company has also taken over a building from HTC in Taiwan, which will be turned into an R&D site.
