WAKE FOREST, NC – Flextronics International has agreed to develop a plan to clean the groundwater that tainted wells here more than three years ago, say reports.

The electronics manufacturer had a printed circuit board assembly firm here that spread chemicals to drinking wells of about two dozen homes.

Flextronics said it would clean up the contamination and provide alternative drinking water for those affected, under a proposed agreement with the state.

Letters were sent to affected families last week from the Department of Environmental Quality. The families have 30 days to respond.
