TAIPEI – Foxconn is reportedly in talks with Japanese telecom and Internet firm SoftBank to produce telecom products in India.

Foxconn is acknowledging new investment in India, where it has produced mobile phones on behalf of customer Nokia, but is declining further comment. Details of the agreement are a work in progress, say reports, and an official announcement is expected later.

Separately, the companies have teamed with Bharti Enterprises to launch a three-way joint venture named SBG Cleantech. The firms plan to invest up to $20 billion to generate 20gw of solar power.
