TAIPEI – Global notebook shipments are expected to increase 3% to 185 million units in 2015, says Topology Research Institute.

Business-use models are expected to grow 9% to 88.69 million units, according to the research firm.

The firm says Taiwan-based ODMs will ship 136.5 million notebooks worldwide this year and 138.7 million units next year.

Quanta Computer will lead the way, shipping 49.5 million units in 2015, up 9% year-over-year. Compal Electronics will ship 40.1 million units next year, down nearly 5% compared to 2014. Wistron will ship 22.6 million notebooks, up 4.6% year-over-year, and Inventec will ship 16.5 million units in 2015, down 3.5% compared to 2014. Finally, Pegatron will ship 10 million notebooks in 2015, down nearly 2% year-over-year.
