SHANXI, CHINA – Foxconn will invest $814 million into its northern China factories to aid in the production of electric vehicles, according to reports.

Chairman Terry Gou expects the firm’s Shanxi staff to reach 100,000 in 2014, with annual revenue more than $7.4 billion.

Foxconn reportedly is already providing components for a Palo Alto, CA, company’s vehicles.
