PartnerTech Hands Out 37 Pink Slips in Vellinge

VELLINGE, SWEDEN -- PartnerTech has given termination notices to 37 workers at its Vellinge Customer Center and will move production to Poland.
Negotiations have begun with union representatives to lay off 13 white collar and 24 blue collar workers, the electronics manufacturing services firm said.
The contract printed circuit board assembler cited increased internal efficiency and the relocation of production to its unit in Sieradz, Poland.
PartnerTech, which ranked 30th on the latest CIRCUITS ASSEMBLY Global Top 50, said the layoffs won't generate any extra nonrecurring costs.
