PLYMOUTH, MN – Source Engineering & Manufacturing has acquired AimTek, extending its production capabilities into the surface mount technology market. The acquisition adds tape & reel packaging, lead forming and trimming for semiconductor and electronic components and contract assembly support.

The company will provide tape & reel services for electronic components, including forming, trimming, labeling and delivery. Packaging operations meet EIA standards and are performed in a facility operating under ANSI/ESD S20.20. Automated equipment supports tape sizes from 8mm to 152mm and accommodates heat-activated and pressure-sensitive materials.

The added capabilities expand Source Engineering’s role as a provider of precision electronic manufacturing and support SMT component handling, production readiness and assembly requirements.
