TURGI, SWITZERLAND -- After six weeks of consultations with employee unions, Enics has confirmed plans transfer manufacturing from its electronics manufacturing plant here to other factories in Europe, a move that will affect up to 110 workers.

Over the next year, the EMS company will establish a business development center in Switzerland, focusing on Central and West European markets.

Enics Schweiz, which operates a manufacturing site in Turgi, will instead focus on business development and customer service, especially for the German-speaking and Central and West European markets. Manufacturing operations at Enics Turgi will be transferred to other Enics sites in Europe, especially to the company's site in Västerås, Sweden.

The decision comes after Enics Switzerland concluded talks with employee representatives and unions. The transfer of manufacturing impacts the jobs of up to 110 employees and is expected to be complete by mid-2022.
