KUALA LUMPUR -- EMS provider EG Industries plans to invest RM30 million ($7.3 million) to expand its Sungai Petani plant.

Plans call for the plant to be expanded to 260,000 sq. ft. from its current 215,307 sq. ft., with funds coming from bank borrowings and cash on hand.

EG Industries said the move will accommodate higher demand for box build services. Box-build revenue has more than doubled to $39 million in the past fiscal year, and orders for box-build programs to be delivered by year-end were were $12 million at the close of its fiscal year in June.
