Carlsbad, CA, USA – 9 January 2026 - Nordson Electronics Solutions, a global leader in reliable electronics manufacturing technologies, announced that Kamstrup, a world‑renowned provider of intelligent metering solutions headquartered in Skanderborg, Denmark, has increased production throughput 20% and reclaimed 6 meters (19.7 feet) of factory floor space by upgrading its through‑hole technology (THT) production line with the Nordson SELECT Synchro selective soldering system.

Kamstrup’s production team wanted to transition from traditional wave soldering to selective soldering to enhance automation and improve process control. The initial systems evaluated, however, presented major space constraints— some proposed selective soldering equipment measured up to nine meters (29.5 feet), exceeding available floor capacity.

That challenge was solved with the SELECT Synchro. With a compact footprint of 2.5 meters (8.2 feet), the system fit within Kamstrup’s existing THT line while freeing floor space in production and without requiring a major production line redesign. The performance gains were equally impactful as the SELECT Synchro 5 system is 20% higher in throughput compared to traditional 6-pot selective soldering machines.

To ensure full confidence in the investment, Kamstrup conducted a production‑scale evaluation at Nordson Electronics Solutions’ Valkenswaard, Netherlands facility, where hundreds of its PCBs were processed on the SELECT Synchro. The test allowed Kamstrup to validate output quality and ensure risk‑free adoption.

“That helpful information confirmed our decision to invest in the SELECT Synchro with zero risk of not achieving our production targets,” said Kasper Neubert, Production Engineer at Kamstrup. “After extensive planning and testing, we are happy to complete this project with such good results. If the Synchro system had not been available, we would have had to redesign our entire THT production line. Instead, we saved six meters in total line length, advanced our automation, and gained a 20% jump in output.”

“Kamstrup’s success is a strong example of what the SELECT Synchro system was designed to achieve—high‑performance selective soldering in a compact footprint,” said Lars Moeller Nielsen, Sales Manager at Nordson. “We’re proud to support Kamstrup’s automation goals and look forward to collaborating on future manufacturing innovations.”
Once the system was approved, Nordson and regional partner SmartTec Nordic collaborated closely to ensure smooth installation, training, and startup support.

“The Nordson team kept their on‑time delivery promise, and the SmartTec Nordic team followed through with superb service, training, and installation,” said Neubert. “We are looking forward to identifying new projects at Kamstrup for a possible second SELECT Synchro.”

Kamstrup’s transition from wave soldering to selective soldering highlights the powerful impact of smart automation and close technological collaboration. With the SELECT Synchro, the company has strengthened efficiency, gained more throughput capacity, and reclaimed space critical for future‑ready manufacturing.
