EXTON, Pa., January 27, 2020 – AGC Chemicals Americas will feature AMOLEA AT2 and the AsahiKlin AE-3000 series of environmentally sensible fluorinated cleaning solvents as well as FORBLUE sunsep membrane gas dehumidifiers at the IPC APEX Expo for electronics manufacturers at booth #4308, February 4-6 at the San Diego Convention Center.

AMOLEA AT2 and the AsahiKlin AE-3000 series cleaning agents provide electronics manufacturers a safer, highly effective and environmentally friendly alternative to other solvents such as n-propyl bromide and trichloroethylene. These cleaning agents have no flash point, no ozone depletion potential (ODP), low global warming potential (GWP) and low surface tension.

They are used to precision clean electronic components such as reflector glasses for laser printers, lenses, and audio and video heads, and are used for defluxing printed circuit boards. At the IPC APEX Expo, AGC will have live demonstrations of AsahiKlin AE3000ATE with an ultrasonic cleaning machine.

These nonflammable fluorinated cleaning solvents are chemically and thermally stable. Because they have no flash point, explosion-proof equipment is not required. In addition, they are energy efficient due to their low latent heat of vaporization and can be recycled with distillation. They are ideal for many applications because they are compatible with a broad range of materials including delicate substrates.

In addition to fluorosolvents, AGC will introduce FORBLUE sunsep membrane gas dryers that are ideal for applications like controlling humidity in microchip clean rooms and dehumidification of printed circuit boards after post-assembly cleaning. These systems, based on hollow fibers made from AGC’s FORBLUE FLEMION fluorine-based ion exchange membranes, are nonporous and ensure only moisture passes through. They are an environmentally friendly and easy-to-use solution because no power source is required.
