Flextronics’ Q3 Revenues Up 12% Sequentially Print E-mail

SINGAPOREFlextronics today announced third-quarter 2009 net sales of $6.6 billion, up 12% sequentially, and down nearly 28% year-over-year.

Operating income was $167 million, up 26.3% compared to the second quarter. Operating profit in the same quarter of 2008 was $300 million.

During the third quarter, Flextronics generated $331 million of operating cash flow. Net debt was reduced by $278 million, to $309 million total.

For the fourth quarter ending March 31, revenue is expected to be in the range of $5.8 billion to $6.2 billion.

GAAP net income for the third quarter was $93 million, compared to $20 million for the prior quarter and a $6.02 billion loss a year ago, when Flextronics recorded a non-cash charge of $5.9 billion to writeoff the entire carrying value of its goodwill.
