SAN DIEGO -- SMTA International kicks off today, bringing a major electronics assembly trade show to San Diego for the first time in eight years.

The show, which features a full slate of technical papers, workshops and two days of exhibits, opens its doors at 9 am at the Town and Country Resort and Convention Center.
